2017 Billfish Foundation Artist of the Year

Dennis is extremely proud to have been selected as the 2017 Billfish Foundation Artist of the Year, a group accompanied by some of the world’s premier marine painters. For the occasion, he created his original painting, “Combustion” to be the featured work of art. The piece will be made into a limited edition print in which he will hand sign and number as well as remarque the first 100. The print will be offered to the members of TBF.

The Billfish Foundation (TBF), a non-profit, was founded in 1986 and their flagship traditional tagging program began in 1990. Today, it is known to be the largest international billfish tagging program for Marlin, Sailfish, Spearfish and Swordfish species in the world.

Their initial focus was on research and educational programs. However, in recent years their focus expanded to include advocacy for responsible fisheries management, recognizing that influencing decision makers with sound science was a crucial step in successful billfish conservation.

Here at the studio we are proud to support such an amazing organization. As a marine artist, being given such an honor by them is truly a hallmark experience.
